Supporting Vulnerable Youth

Every step you take supports vulnerable youth in our community and brings people together across cultures and backgrounds.

Walk once on Saturday or walk twice, or simply come to soak in the atmosphere—AussiePeaceWalk is about much more than the distance covered.

Walk Starts at Nara Peace Park

After ringing the Canberra World Peace Bell, you’ll walk to the lakes edge and head east. You’ll bypass the Commonwealth Bridge construction work and continue on the path beside the lake.

Walkers will pass through the vibrant Saturday Little Burley Market and continue along the path on the southern side of Lake Burley Griffin to Kings Avenue bridge.

After crossing the bridge, walkers will turn west and continue past the National Carillion on the path through Commonwealth Park. After passing under Commonwealth Bridge you’ll continue for a short stint before heading to the finish at the National Film and Sound Archive.

This walk is actually 7.7km… so you get a bonus 500m!

After the walk

Stick around to mingle with new friends you’ve met on the walk, share stories, and celebrate the connections you’ve made and explore the National Film and Sound Archive.

It’s the perfect way to cap off a day of purpose and community.
