The best way to experience Canberra; ‘The Bush Capital’

At the heart of the Aussie Peace Walk is the renowned MultiMingle. This is a two walk event that people travel across the world to take part in. Once you’ve completed these two walks, you’ll understand why they call Canberra ‘The Bush Capital’.

This exciting combination of a 21km walk on Saturday and a 24km walk on Sunday will take you on a journey of discovery.

You’ll walk 45 picturesque kilometres over the weekend shoulder to shoulder with wonderful walkers from around the world.

If you are an IML walker, you’ll also be entitled to the relevant bling that goes with walking over 20km on two consecutive days. If you aren’t an IML walker, you can join the IML at the Aussie Peace Walk and continue your walking journey around the world.

Can’t walk on both Days/ Just do One

You can walk on both days (the MultiMingle) or you do just the Saturday 21km walk or the Sunday 24km walk.

Make the most of your involvement by registering to support one of these great charities.

What  country will you represent?

A Globally Loved Walking Event

The MultiMingle participants continue the celebration of their cultural heritage.

Many people wear a shirt with flag or add a small flag to a daypack or hat. Some wear colourful clothing that identifies their favourite destination or their cultural heritage.

The idea is to meet others, chat, make friends, learn about other nations and their culture. Let’s embrace our differences as you walk along together.

Peace comes from understanding and what better way to get to know another culture than to walk along chatting with someone from another land?

People You Meet

Many of the MultiMingle participants travel to walking events around the world. You’ll find friendly, like-minded walkers along the routes that have done many of the most popular walking adventure trails in the world.

You’ll be able to share experiences with people who have done the Inca Trail in Peru, El Circuito in Chile and the famous 3,500km Appalachian Trail in the United States.

Many have walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain: A network of pilgrimage routes that end at the shrine of St. James in Santiago de Compostela. You might even meet walkers that have done the Gokyo Ri Trek in Nepal.
