Oasis Africa focuses on providing access to quality education.
Since 2006, our work in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya, has been centered on supporting and educating underprivileged children.
These students, who consistently overcome many obstacles to achieve remarkable results in both high school and university, are our constant source of inspiration.
In November 2024, there were 72 students studying at Secondary Schools and Universities around Kenya under an Oasis Africa Scholarship.

100% of donations* to Oasis Africa from Aussie Peace Walk fundraising will directly support high school scholarships for students from the Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya.

What Sets Us Apart
To assist each student under an Oasis Africa Scholarship, each student has access to a mentor providing motivation and accountability to their attendance, grades and behaviour.
Our mentorship program plays a pivotal role in their journey, providing personalised guidance that complements their academic pursuits and fosters personal growth. It’s a holistic approach that equips them with the skills and confidence needed to navigate the complexities of life and work.
During each term break, each student will attend a workshop facilitated by the Mentor to:
- Review individual grades, paperwork and progress while receiving one-on-one advice for any areas of concern if applicable
- Learn and be inspired by motivational or educational speakers or past OAA successful scholarship recipients
- Be part of a team building day with other OAA scholars, creating a unique network of peer-to-peer support and personal development
